Dr Richard Strickland

Dr Richard StricklandRichard was born in Lincolnshire, England in 1941 and had an interest in music from an early age, singing and playing the piano in local music competitions. He was a chorister in the Kings College Choir, senior chorister in 1954, and later was involved in music societies at school and university with production of operettas, reviews and choral services.

Most recently, his ever deteriorating and croaky voice has been a part of a Barbers Shop Quartet, which until fairly recently gave concerts and entertainment on the local scene.

Caryll Whitehead

Caryll Whitehead Tribute to the late Mrs Caryll Whitehead

It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the passing of Mrs Caryll Whitehead in 2015, Patroness of the Limestone Coast Choral and Vocal Showcase. Caryll challenged young performers in Showcase to dream big and follow that dream. Her strength, love and friendship was inspirational. Her dedication and commitment to the Showcase committee and the event is a tremendous gift that will benefit generations to come.

Caryll was instrumental in the establishment of the Helen Schultz Memorial Award and headed the selection panel since its inception in 2008.

She extended a warm welcoming hand of friendship as she shared the hosting of the Adjudicators who travelled from interstate to be a part of the Showcase event.

Her presence will be sadly missed.
