Charmaine Jones-Devasagayam is a highly sought after educator in vocal/choral and performance techniques nationwide.


Jones-Devasagayam’s vocal abilities and musical ventures are as eclectic as the variety of industry greats she has had the pleasure of working with; Paul Grabowsky, Paul Kelly, Michael Bublè, Naturally 7, Darlene Love, James Morrison, Leo Sayer, Jonathon Welch AM, to name just a few.

Described as Adelaide's Vocal Darling, her vocal range and timbres are as unique as her repertoire. Producer of critically acclaimed ensemble Gospo Collective, a gospel-esque choral experience unlike anything the Southern Hemisphere has to offer, Jones-Devasagayam also conducts St Mary’s College and Pembroke School jazz choirs, regular prize winners at the prestigious Generations in Jazz competition.

Reputed for duo collaboration with guitarists James Muller, James Sherlock, Doug De Vries and Mike Bevan, A Small Hotel and Still, a release of jazz/latin originals and standards with Bevan, received much public kudos and 4.5 stars in 'The National' 2012/2013.

In 2015, Jones-Devasagayam headlined ‘ASO Does Disco’ with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra conducted by Guy Noble and the Australian-bred vocalist also solidified her professional name in her homeland, Sri Lanka.

Jones-Devasagayam sees no barrier to achieving goals, growing new skills and building relationships through music, creating a generation of people confident in the expression of their art, despite their age.

Testaments are The Jones Commentary and The Jones Juniors (both of which are educational offshoots from her music, events and entertainment company, Gospo Enterprises) and The Big Black Caftans with chef, Maggie Beer.

2016 saw Jones-Devasagayam take a leading role in Adelaide Fringe Festival shows; Leading Ladies of Jazz ‘Raising The Standards’ (4.5 stars), The Colours of Brazil (featuring Eddie Gazani (QLD) and Fabian Hevia) and 'Swing - The Beat that Shook The World' (5 stars).

Jones-Devasagayam also lectures in Contemporary Vocal at Monash University (Melbourne) with Gerald Marko and Rod Davies and undertook on the role of Vocal Coach with the Adelaide Cabaret Festival forClass of Cabaret in 2016 alongside acclaimed international entertainers, Michael Griffiths and Amelia Ryan.
